Reverse Adrenal Fatigue Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment. For years doctors told women that there was no such thing as chronic fatigue. It is frustrating when some trying to tell you something you are experiencing is all in your head! Many women suffer from adrenal fatigue. The complaint usually is, they do not have enough energy or are always tired.
There are many causes of low energy and one of the reasons could be chronic or adrenal fatigue. A disorder where the adrenals are overworked and unable to produce sufficient amounts of cortisol (a hormone). Adrenal fatigue is very common and many undiagnosed medical complaints may be caused by it.
It can cause hypotension, chronic stress, depression, nervousness, weight loss, hair loss, obesity, compromised immune system, skin discoloration, and food craving. When a person is in a constant state of anxiety, this will cause the medulla to produce more of these hormones.
What is the Adrenal Gland?
The adrenal gland is a small organ located on the top of each kidney. It consists of the adrenal cortex and medulla, which are responsible for the production of hormones. The cortex produces cortisol, aldosterone, and androgens while the medulla produces epinephrine and norepinephrine.
The adrenal medulla is responsible for the circulation of epinephrine and noradrenaline. These hormones which ignite the flight-or-flight response, causing blood pressure to elevate, blood sugar to rise and focus to intensity.

Laughter for Adrenal Fatigue
I wanted to give this topic it’s own heading because it is so important for healing on many levels! Proverbs 17:22 says ‘A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.’ For Christmas, my family gave toys to the Toys for Tots program. While shopping I picked up a doll that laughed like a baby. I could not help but laugh every time I squeezed that little pink doll. Don’t tell anyone, but I bought one for myself. I call her my therapy doll. Every time I feel stressed I give her a little squeeze and I smile.
